Jumpstart: Workforce and Career Development Program

Jumpstart helps young adults navigate through the world of work. They learn the unspoken rules of employment and develop critical soft skills, such as critical thinking and problem solving, that are necessary to succeed on the job. Jumpstart starts with the fundamentals of employment, including career exploration, interest and skills inventory, and the basics of job search. Once youth master these competencies, Jumpstart connects them to a variety of career development opportunities within their field of interest. Those opportunities include internships, apprenticeships, job shadowing, on-the-job training, and subsidized and unsubsidized work experiences.
